The Jasper County Sherrif’s Posse are a group of men that donate their time, money, and resources to help the Carthage and Jasper County communities. These local citizens joined together to volunteer for community service, are a certified search and rescue team, that supports the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Colonel Ron Millard says that it’s “All done on horseback” giving the sheriff an additional option for search and rescue. One of the rules is that each remember carries a western style revolver because they are a mounted posse and there uniform reflects the old west. The Colonel personally carries a Ruger Vaquero® Single-Action Revolver.
