carl junction archery team
During the 2011-2012 school year, Archery was introduced in Carl Junction High School Physical Education classes. We’re now starting our 7th season with the National Archery in the Schools Program at the High School level (9th-12th), 6th season at the Middle School (6th-8th), and 5th season with the Elementary (4th & 5th). We had nearly 100 Archers 4th-12th grades in our program last season and for the first time EVER we took 3 teams to the National Tournament this past May.
We are projecting 110+ 4th-12th graders competing in the NASP program here at Carl Junction. Archers are responsible for paying dues that go toward our off campus range expense, equipment, tournament entry fees, and shooting shirts. With more participants, comes more needs. Following is a list of items needed to keep our program growing while making it affordable for students to participate.
The following is a list of items needed to keep our program growing:
- NASP 3D Targets & Inserts
- NASP Target faces
- NASP Arrows
- NASP B.C.Y. Arrow Curtain
- Indoor Archery Range Rent: Estimate of $800-$1000 a month.
- Supplies/Replacements parts (arrow rest, nocks, score cards, clip boards, pencils, paper, black paper, Para cord, arrow string, fletching)
- Expenses for NASP National Competition 2019 (pending qualification)
- Expenses for NASP World Competition 2019 (pending qualification)
- Compensation for Our Volunteer Coaches *This is not included in regular season dues..
Our goal with our Gun Raffle is to eliminate all tournament fees for participants and range fee. We are blessed to practice in CJ’s old grocery store but with it comes utility bills and it tends to get pretty cold in the winter.
Our mission is to teach youth the lifetime skill of Archery while building characteristics of hard work, honesty, integrity, humbleness, and academic success in the classroom.
